Jersey City Man Sentenced For Possession Of Child Pornography

NEWARK, NJ.- A 46-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey, previously convicted sex offender will be spending the next 10 years in federal prison after being sentenced on Friday for a federal child pornography offense.
On Friday, Jonathan Lattif, 46, of Jersey City, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Claire C. Cecchi to 120 months in federal prison, to be followed by ten years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea.
Lattif previously appeared in federal court in Newark, New Jersey, and pleaded guilty before Judge Cecchi to one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna and documents filed with the District Court, on March 18, 2022, Lattif possessed video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, including prepubescent children, on his cellular phone. During a subsequent forensic examination of his mobile device, investigators also uncovered one digital image of child pornography.
In handing down the sentence on Friday, Judge Cecchi noted Lattif’s prior state conviction for possessing child pornography.
