Dallas Man Sentenced For Role In West Virginia Drug Trafficking Organization

HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- A 23-year-old Dallas, Georgia, man will be spending the next decade in federal prison after being sentenced on Monday for his role in a large-scale drug trafficking organization that was responsible for distributing large quantities of illicit narcotics throughout theSouthern District of West Virginia.

     On Monday, February 10, 2025, Nehmiah Allen-Griggs, also known as “Newski,” 23, of Dallas, Georgia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers to 120 months in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release for his guilty plea of the Distribution of 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine.

According To U.S. Attorney Will Thompson

     According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and documents filed with the District Court, on March 1, 2023, Allen-Griggs distributed and sold around one pound of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in exchange for $2,000 in a parking lot in Huntington, West Virginia, during a controlled buy under the observation of law enforcement officers.

     During the ongoing narcotics investigation, on November 15, 2023, investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at a Highlawn Avenue residence in Huntington. During the search, investigators uncovered and seized quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl. In addition, investigators seized a 12-gauge shotgun, a Walther P22 .22-caliber pistol equipped with a silencer, a Kel-Tech .22-caliber pistol, and various rounds of ammunition. 

     During his plea allocution, Allen-Griggs admitted to his role in the drug trafficking organization and further admitted to utilizing the Highlawn Avenue location with others to store, repackage, and redistribute the methamphetamine and fentanyl onto the streets of Huntington, West Virginia, and surrounding communities.

     Allen-Griggs is among 27 individuals indicted in a 53-count indictment that charges the group with distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl transported from Detroit, Michigan, into Huntington and other locations throughout the Southern District of West Virginia.

     Allen-Griggs is also among 22 individuals who have pleaded guilty in the main prosecution. Another of the 27 of the indicted individuals pleaded guilty to a related offense in a separate case. The indictment against the remaining individuals remains pending.
