WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Northwest, D.C. man who was gunned down Tuesday afternoon in the parking garage of Union Station.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, shortly after 4:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District and several other law enforcement agencies responded to Union Station on Massachusetts Avenue in Northeast, D.C., after Amtrak Police Officers heard gunshots coming from the bus waiting area.

Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Wayne McDaniel, 18, of Northwest, D.C., unresponsive on the ground near the escalators leading to the parking garage, suffering from gunshot wounds. Police Officers immediately began life-saving measures, but despite medical efforts by Police Officers, Mr. McDaniel tragically succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

Detectives Locate Video Surveillance Capturing The Suspect

During the initial investigation, Detectives of the D.C.
