Atlantic City Drug Dealer Sentenced For Fentanyl Distribution

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds reported, that on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Kenneth Thompson, 26, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and was sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison for his previously entered guilty plea to second-degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.
The guilty plea and sentence stem from an incident that began on November 18, 2023, when members of the Atlantic City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was being driven by Thompson. During the traffic stop, a narcotics-sniffing canine was alerted to the presence of narcotics.
During his arrest, Thompson was searched, and Police Officers uncovered 200 wax folds containing fentanyl and $165.00. Through surveillance video footage, Police Officers learned that Thompson had exited his sister’s apartment prior to the traffic stop. A subsequent search of Thompson’s sister’s apartment led to the recovery of an additional 1,175 wax folds of fentanyl inside a closet.
On Tuesday, Thompson was additionally sentenced to a concurrent five-year prison term on an indictment prosecuted by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
