Portland Man Charged In Stabbing Death Of Cherry Hill Veterinarian

CHERRY HILL, NJ.- On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, a 27-year-old Portland, Oregon, man was taken into custody and charged in connection with the December 10, 2024, stabbing death of a 45-year-old Cherry Hill, New Jersey man.

     Cristian Custodio-Aquino, 27, of Portland, Oregon, was formally charged on Friday, February 7, 2025, with first-degree Murder and related Weapons offenses. Custodio-Aquino was apprehended on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Fresno, California, by members of the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is currently detained in the Fresno County Jail, pending extradition back to New Jersey.

According To The Camden County Prosecutor

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, shortly after 7:00 a.m., members of the Cherry Hill Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive man on the 100 Block of Sharrowvalle Road in Cherry Hill. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, identified as Doctor Michael Anthony, 45, of Cherry Hill, having succumbed to multiple stab wounds. Dr. Anthony was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

     During a nearly two-month investigation, Detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Cherry Hill Police Department were able to identify Custodio-Aquino as the perpetrator and the individual responsible for the murder of Dr. Anthony, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
