CHARLESTON, W.VA.- On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Kishaun Andre Jones, 25, of Beckley, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn to one count of Escape from a Federal Reentry Facility.

According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and charging information filed with the District Court, on August 2, 2024, Jones walked away without permission from Dismas Charities, Inc., a Federal Bureau of Prisons residential reentry facility in St. Albans, West Virginia, while finishing a federal prison sentence.

Jones was housed at Dismas Charities as a result of his February 23, 2023, conviction for the distribution of methamphetamine in The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Jones was later located and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Following entering his guilty plea on Thursday, Judge Aboulhosn accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for June 9, 2025. At that time Jones faces up to five years in federal prison.

U.S. Attorney Thompson commended the investigative work of the United States Marshals Service for the investigation and apprehension of Jones.
