BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ.- Last Friday, a 59-year-old Brick Township, New Jersey, man, and a former part-time Brick Township special police officer was sentenced to the Ocean County Jail as a condition to his term of probation for possessing over 100 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Friday, February 14, 2025, John Kisch, 59, of Brick Township, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan to 270 days in the Ocean County Jail as a condition of his term of probation for his previously entered guilty plea.

On September 24, 2024, Kisch appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Judge Ryan to Possession of Child Pornography. In handing down the sentence on Friday, Judge Ryan also ordered Kisch to be subject to parole supervision for life.

The guilty plea and Friday’s sentence stem from an investigation that began after the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office received a referral from the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after they received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual in the Ocean County, New Jersey area was uploading images of child pornography to the internet.

Detectives Identify Kisch

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad launched an investigation. During the investigation, Detectives were able to identify an IP address associated with a Brick Township residence as the location from which the individual was uploading the images of child pornography. Further investigation by Detectives identified Kisch as the individual. At that time, Kisch was employed as a part-time Special Police Officer with the Brick Township Police Department.

On June 13, 2023, federal. state and local law enforcement agencies obtained and executed a court-authorized search of Kisch’s Brick Township home. During the search, Detectives seized a desktop computer. A subsequent forensic examination of the computer by Detectives uncovered more than 100 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children on the computer. Following the discovery of the child pornography, Kisch was taken into custody and charged.
