EDISON, NJ.- On Monday, February 17, 2025, following an investigation, a 61-year-old Woodbridge, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 72-year-old Edison, New Jersey man that occurred Sunday night inside his Clive Hills Road home.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the Edison Police Department responded to a residence located on Clive Hills Road after receiving a 911 Emergency Call from Gregory Ginzburg reporting that Igor Kirilenko, 61, of the Keasbey section of Woodbridge, New Jersey was inside his home with a firearm.

Upon arrival, Police Officers found Mr. Ginzburg, 72, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Mr. Ginzburg was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. Also located in the residence was Kirilenko, who was unarmed.

Detectives Identified Kirilenko As The Murderer

During the ensuing investigation, Detective Clint Hetzell of the Edison Police Department and Detective Olivia Ankudowicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Kirilenko fatally shot Mr. Ginzburg.

Accordingly, on Monday, Kirilenko was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of first-degree Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. Kirilenko was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, pending future court proceedings in Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
