HARRISBURG, PA.- A 23-year-old Lebanon County, Pennsylvania man is facing up to 30 years in federal prison after being charged by federal indictment with traveling from Pennsylvania to Ohio to engage in sexual conduct with a girl under the age of sixteen.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Chase Lawrence, 23, of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, with Interstate Travel with Intent to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct with a Minor.

The indictment was unsealed yesterday following Lawrence’s initial appearance in federal court in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Charging Information Unsealed In The Indictment

According to the charging information unsealed in the indictment, it is alleged that on or about December 18, 2022, and October 6, 2023, Lawrence traveled from his home in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, to Camden, Ohio, with the purpose of engaging in sexual conducted with a girl who was under the age of sixteen, at the time the offense was committed.

If convicted at trial, Lawrence faces up to 30 years in federal prison, at least three years, and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Following a conviction, any sentence imposed would be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge based on the seriousness of the offense and Lawrence’s prior criminal history, if any.

Acting U.S. Attorney Gurganus commended the investigative work of the Camden, Ohio, Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which led to the return of the indictment against Lawrence.

“The rules of the federal court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
