BRIGANTINE, NJ.- On Friday, February 21, 2025, Kevin Turkvan, 32, of Pleasantville, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Pamela D’Arcy to one count of second-degree Aggravated Assault.

Following entering his guilty plea, Judge D’Arcy accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for May 14, 2025. At that time, in exchange for the guilty plea, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Turkvan be sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Turkvan to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole.

According To The Prosecutor’s Office

According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on April 9, 2024, members of the Brigantine Police Department responded to a report of a domestic violence incident where the female victim was being taken to the hospital for treatment.

As a result of the ensuing investigation, Police Officers determined that Turkvan had assaulted the female victim, his girlfriend, on April 5, 2024. It was further determined that during an altercation, Turkvan struck his girlfriend in the head with a blunt object, causing serious injuries, including a fractured skull.

Following the investigation, Turkvan was taken into custody and charged. Following being processed on the charges, he was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he has been detained since his arrest. After being sentenced, Turkvan will be transferred to the custody of the New Jersey State Department of Corrections.
