Pleasantville Man Indicted For Beating Death Of His Girlfriend

PLEASANTVILLE, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, a Grand Jury sitting in Atlantic County, New Jersey, returned an indictment charging Boris Lainez-Rosales, 26, of Pleasantville, New Jersey, with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence in connection with the December 2, 2024, death of his girlfriend.
The indictment stems from an investigation that began when, on December 2, 2024, shortly before 2:00 a.m., members of the Pleasantville Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unresponsive woman at 132 Edgewater Avenue in Pleasantville, New Jersey.
Police Find Woman Severely Injured
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman, later identified as Leslianet Quintana-Betancourt, 25, of Pleasantville, New Jersey, unconscious from apparent blunt force injuries. Ms. Quintana-Betancourt was immediately transported to Atlantic City Medical Center, where, despite life-saving measures, Ms. Quintana-Betancourt tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department quickly determined that during an altercation, Lainez-Rosales struck Ms. Quintana-Betancourt multiple times. A subsequent autopsy performed by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death was multiple blunt force trauma injuries and the Manner of Death Homicide.
As a result of the investigation, Lainez-Rosales, Ms. Quintana-Betancourt’s live-in boyfriend, was taken into custody and formally charged for her death.
At that time, Lainez-Rosales was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he currently remains detained pending trial. Lainez-Rosales will be arraigned on the indictment in the near future.
