WOOD-RIDGE, NJ.- On Friday, February 21, 2025, a 37-year-old and a 47-year-old, both of Wood-Ridge, New Jersey men, were taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with repeatedly sexually assaulting a child for nearly two years in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, members of the Wood-Ridge Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit after receiving a report of allegations of the sexual assault of a child that had occurred in the past.

During an investigation and after interviewing witnesses, including the child victim, Detectives of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Wood-Ridge Police Department determined that Francisco A. Serpas, 37, and Angel W. Serpas, 47, sexually assaulted the child on multiple occasions between January 2021 and December 2022 in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey.

Both Men Charged With Multiple Counts

Accordingly, following the investigation, both Angel Serpas and Francisco Serpas were taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and were each charged with two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; second-degree Sexual Assault; and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Both men were processed on the charges and were remanded to the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
