Queens Man Charged With Witnesses Tampering & Perjury

HACKENSACK, NJ.- On February 10, 2025, following an investigation, a 26-year-old Queens, New York, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with witness tampering and false statements made on an application to obtain a temporary restraining order.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on February 7, 2025, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit became aware of a temporary restraining order that was believed to have been granted by false accusations that were made by Clyde Johnson, 26, of Queens, against a witness in an active criminal prosecution against him.
A subsequent investigation by Detectives determined that Johnson made false statements to the hearing officer while seeking a temporary restraining order against the witness.
Charges Filed
Accordingly, following the investigation, Detectives formally charged Johnson with one count of third-degree Witness Tampering; third-degree Perjury; and fourth-degree False Swearing.
On February 10, 2025, members of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Johnson. After being processed on the charges, Johnson was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
