Collingswood Man Charged For Saturday’s Stabbing At A Local Pub

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ.- On Monday, a 27-year-old Collingswood Borough, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly stabbing a man Saturday night at a Collingswood brewery.

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAuly, Tahaa Elmogahzy, 27, of Collingswood Borough, New Jersey, was formally charged yesterday with first-degree Attempted Murder; third-degree Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

     The charges stem from an investigation that began on Saturday, February 22, 2025, when shortly after 9:00 p.m., members of the Collingswood Police Department responded to a report of a disorderly person at the Raccoon Taproom located on Powell Lane in the Borough.

Police Officers Find Man Stabbed

     Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that a suspect had stabbed a 30-year-old Mount Laurel, New Jersey, man in an unprovoked attack and then fled the brewery on foot. The man was transported to Cooper Unversity Hospital, where, as of Monday night, he remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

     A joint investigation conducted by Detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit in conjunction with the Collingswood Police Department was quickly able to identify Elmogahzy as the suspect and the individual responsible for the stabbing.

U.S.Marshals Apperhend Suspect Monday Afternoon

     Members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, Camden Division, apprehended Elmogahzy Monday afternoon in Collingswood, New Jersey. Following being taken into custody, Elmogahzy was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Camden County Superior Court in Camden, New Jersey.
