El Salvadorian National Charged With Illegal Reentry Into The U.S.

HARRISBURG, PA.- A 52-year-old El Salvadorian national is facing up to ten years in federal prison after being indicted on a federal immigration offense.
On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Jorge A. Guzman-Montano, 52, of El Salvador, with one count of Illegal Reentry into the United States by a Previously Deported Alien.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it has been alleged that Guzman-Montano was previously removed from the United States on April 21, 2017, through Laredo, Texas. It is further alleged that Guzman-Montano was found in the United States without obtaining permission or legal authorization to reenter the country after being encountered on February 12, 2025, in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
If convicted at trial, Guzman-Montano faces up to 120 months in federal prison, at least one year of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Upon completion of any term of imprisonment imposed, Guzman-Montano will face immediate deportation proceedings and be removed from the United States.
