Schenectady Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug Crime

ALBANY, NY.- On Wednesday, a 27-year-old Schenectady, New York, man learned he would be facing up to 40 years in federal prison when sentenced after pleading guilty to a federal drug offense.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Daniel Hanlon, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Terrell Bell, 27, of Schenectady, New York, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York and pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.
Following entering his guilty plea on Wednesday, a U.S. District Court Judge accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for July 9, 2025. At that time, Bell faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 40 years in federal prison, at least four years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $5 million fine. When sentenced, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Bell’s prior criminal history.
According To Documents Filed In The Court
According to the charging documents filed with the District Court, in January 2024, while serving a term of parole, law enforcement officers conducted a search of Bell’s Schenectady, New York, home as required by the terms and conditions of his parole agreement.
During the search, officers found 1,800 counterfeit pills containing fentanyl in his bedroom and over $90,000 in U.S. currency in denominations consistent with narcotics sales throughout the residence.
Acting U.S. Attorney Hanlon commended the investigative work of the Schenectady Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
