Fort Lee Man Charged With Child Endangerment Offenses

FORT LEE, NJ.- On Wednesday, a 45-year-old Fort Lee, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with endangering two teenagers over a three-year period in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, members of the Fort Lee Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged endangerment of two teenagers. 

Detectives Uncover Child Endangerment

     Following a swift-moving investigation by the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department. Detectives quickly determined that Kyu Chul Kim, 45, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, endangered the well-being of two juveniles under the age of sixteen in Fort Lee, New Jersey, over the past three years.

     Accordingly, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Kim was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and formally charged with two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Kim was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
