Metropolitan Police Charge Man For Last Month’s S Street Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Thursday, March 13, 2025, following an investigation, a 19-year-old Southeast, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred last month in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to reports of gunfire on the 300 Block of S Street in Northeast, D.C.
Police Find Man With Gunshot Wound
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Services to a nearby hospital for treatment.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as, Michael Alexander, 19, of Southeast, D.C., as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Accordingly, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Alexander was located and taken into custody and formally charged with Assault With a Dangerous Weapon-Gun.
Alexander was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
