Infant Boy Dies After Being Left In Car Yesterday Afternoon In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, NJ.- A four-month-old baby boy sadly succumbs after being left unattended inside a minivan Tuesday afternoon in Lakewood, New Jersey.

     According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, shortly around 1:45 p.m., members of the Lakewood Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unresponsive infant being found inside a minivan on 5th Street in Lakewood Township.

Police Officers Find Baby Boy Receiving Medical Aid

     Upon arrival at the location, Police Officers found Hatzolah Medical Services rendering life-saving measures to a four-month-old baby boy. The infant was immediately transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where, despite life-saving efforts by First Responders and Medical Center doctors, the baby boy was tragically pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

     The investigation remains ongoing, with no arrests or charges being filed as of this morning. Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Lakewood Township Police Department are continuing their investigation into the circumstance which led to the child being left in the minivan.
