DOVER, NJ.- On Friday, a 38-year-old Dover, New Jersey, convicted child predator will be spending the next seven years in New Jersey State Prison for distributing nearly 1,000 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children over a social media platform.

According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, on Friday, March 14, 2025, Richard Ferrarie-Loffredo, 38, of Dover, New Jersey, appeared in Morris County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Ralph Amirata to seven years in State Prison for his previously entered guilty plea.

Ferrarie-Loffredo Admits Guilt In December 2024

In December 2024, Ferrarie-Loffredo pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for Distribution of Child Pornography. In handing down the sentence on Friday, in addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Amirata ordered Ferrarie-Loffredo, upon his release, to be subject to parole supervision for life and register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law requirements.

Judge Amirata sentenced Ferrarie-Loffredo pursuant to the New Jersey Sex Offender Act, which will require him to serve his sentence at the Avenel Diagnostic Treatment Center for repetitive and compulsive sex offenders. At the time Ferrarie-Loffredo committed the offense, he was a registered sex offender.

The guilty plea and sentence stem from an investigation that began when the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual in Morris County was uploading digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children over the social media platform Reddit.

During the investigation, Detectives identified an internet IP address associated with a Town of Dover, New Jersey residence and identified Ferrarie-Loffredo as being associated with the address. During the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at Ferrarie-Loffredo’s home, Detectives seized multiple electronic devices, and a forensic examination of the devices uncovered that Ferrarie-Loffredo had distributed between 800 and 900 items of child pornography and was in possession of 1,400 items of child pornography.

Prosecutor Carroll commended the investigative work of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Dover Police Department for the successful prosecution of Ferrarie-Loffredo.
