MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Thursday, March 20, 2025, Michael Gillen, 29, of Mays Landing, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant to one count of Aggravated Assault.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, in return for the guilty plea, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Gillen be sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison. Following entering his guilty plea on Thursday, Judge Incarvito-Garrabrant accepted the plea and scheduled Gillen to be sentenced on May 2, 2025.
According To The Prosecutor’s Office
The charge and guilty plea stem from an incident that unfolded on December 31, 2024, when members of the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a domestic violence incident at a Hamilton Township residence.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a woman who reported to Police Officers that her ex-boyfriend, Gillen, had arrived at her home and began to argue with her. The argument quickly escalated, with Gillen assaulting her. As she was holding her child, Gillen struck her. Gillen then pulled her hair and choked her, causing her to lose consciousness.
The woman was later transported to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for her injuries inflicted by Gillen. Gillen was later located and taken into custody, and charged.
