Camden City Man Who Broke Woman’s Jaw Convicted Of Aggravated Assault

CAMDEN, NJ.- On Wednesday, a Camden County Superior Court jury convicted a 46-year-old Camden City, New Jersey man of viciously assaulting a 57-year-old Camden, New Jersey woman in 2022 outside the of a house fire in Camden, New Jersey.

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAuly, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, following a three-day trial in Camden County Superior Court, the jury found Bruce White, 46, of Camden City, guilty on the charge of third-degree Aggravated Assault. 

     Following the jury returning the finding of guilt, a Camden County Superior Court Judge accepted the verdict and scheduled sentencing for May 16, 2025. When sentenced, White faces up to five years in New Jersey State Prison.

Evidence Presented At Trial Proved White Assaulted The Woman

     According to evidence presented at trial, on June 20, 2022, members of the Camden County Police Department and the Camden Fire Department responded to a house fire on the 800 Block of Elm Street in Camden City. 

     Upon arrival at the scene of the fire, Police Officers observed White violently strike the victim, a then 57-year-old Camden, New Jersey, woman with a closed fist, fracturing her jaw. White was immediately taken into custody. The investigation uncovered that White assaulted the woman because he believed a baseless rumor that the woman had started the fire at the location, but the rumor was found to be untrue.
