Garfield Man Fatally Gunned Down Saturday Afternoon In Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- A 21-year-old Garfield, New Jersey, man became the second victim this week to fall prey to the continuing gun violence plaguing the streets of Paterson after he was fatally gunned down late Saturday afternoon in a residential neighborhood in the City of Paterson.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Saturday, March 21, 2025, just shortly after 5:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the area of 12th Avenue and East 24th Street in the City of Paterson.

Police Officers Find Garfield Man Shot Dead

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 21-year-old Garfield, New Jersey man unresponsive, having sustained multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue to search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
