New York Man Sentenced For Sexual Enticement Of A Child

Sunday, March 23, 2025, 2:00 P.M. ET. 3 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

CAMDEN, NJ.- On Tuesday, a 37-year-old convicted New York child predator learned he is going to die in federal prison after he was sentenced to life plus eighty years for child enticement and traveling from New York to Atlantic County, New Jersey, to engage in sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Zachary Williams, 37, of New York, New York, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Christine P. O’Hearn to life in federal prison for his conviction on multiple federal child sex crimes offenses.

Following a 13-day trial before Judge O’Hearn in federal court in Camden, New Jersey, a jury found Williams guilty of Coercion and Enticement of a Child; two counts of Interstate Travel to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct with a Minor; one count of Manufacturing Child Pornography; and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.

In Addition To The Life Sentence, Williams Sentenced To An Additional 80 Years

In addition to the life sentence, Judge O’Hearn sentenced Williams to 30 years in federal prison on each of the counts of interstate travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and the count of manufacturing child pornography and 20 years in federal prison on the possession of child pornography.

According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office

According to U.S. Attorney John Giordano and documents and evidence presented at trial, in and around September 2020, Williams met the teen girl over the social media platform “Snapchat.” During their initial chat conversations, Williams lied about his age, telling the girl he was 17 years old when he was actually 33 years old. Williams asked the girl for nude photographs of herself, and after receiving them, he began to “sextort” the child by threatening to send the nude photographs to the child’s friends and family.

Williams then convinced the girl to meet him at a hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and once there agreed to allow her to delete the nude photographs from his cellular phone.

On October 2, 2020, Williams traveled from New York to a hotel in Atlantic County and, two days later, engaged in sexual intercourse with the girl in his hotel room. Following having sex with the child, and despite his earlier promises, Williams continued to send messages to the girl, threatening to expose the nude photographs of her.

In March 2021, law enforcement investigators arrested Williams in a sting operation through which they lured him to the same Atlantic County hotel by posing as the child. During his arrest, investigators uncovered numerous digital images of child pornography on his cellular phone. The discovery led to the identification of additional child victims in both the Eastern District of New York and the District of Connecticut, where Williams is facing additional federal charges.

“Zachary Williams is a callous sexual predator whose crimes against children were especially cruel,” said U.S. Attorney John Giordano. “First and foremost, the Court’s imposed sentence will forever protect our children from further abuse by Williams. My office, our law enforcement partners are steadfast in our commitment to protecting our nation’s young people.”
