Cape May County Man Charged With Narcotics Offenses

Cape May County Narcotics Task Force Takes Down North Wildwood Drug Dealer

NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ.- On Friday, following an investigation into illicit narcotics distribution throughout the North Wildwood, New Jersey, area, a 46-year-old man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with multiple narcotics and child endangerment offenses.

     According to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland, on Friday, March 21, 2025, members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the North Wildwood Police Department, with the assistance of Cape May County Regional S.W.A.T. Team executed a court-authorized search warrant at the home of Tahiem Howell, 46, of North Wildwood, New Jersey.

     During the search, Detectives and Investigators uncovered and seized around three ounces of suspected cocaine; one ounce of suspected fentanyl, various items of drug paraphernalia; and $1,500.00 in U.S. currency in denominations consistent with illicit narcotics sales. In addition, Detectives found two minor children in the residence.

     Accordingly, Howell was formally charged with two counts of second-degree Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance; two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; two counts of third-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; one count of third-degree Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 Feet of School Property; one count of third-degree Money Laundering; and one count of fourth-degree Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia.

     Howell was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Cape May County Correctional Center, pending future court proceedings in Cape May County Superior Court in Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
