Mexican Man Sentenced For Role In Alien Smuggling Operation

PLATTSBURGH, NY.- On Friday, March 21, 2025, Pedro Solano-Azamar, 27, a Mexican national in the United States illegally, appeared in the U.S. District for the Northern District of New York and was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison after pleading guilty for his role in an Alien Smuggling Conspiracy.

According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office

     According to U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone, III and statements made during Solano-Azamar’s plea allocution, Solano-Azamar, an illegal alien who entered illegally into the United States in 2020, admitted on May 15, 2023, he traveled from North Carolina to Northern New York, with four other co-conspirators in order to and did smuggle 16 Mexican citizens who had entered the United States from Canada.

     Following completing his federal term of imprisonment, Solano-Azamar will face immediate deportation proceedings and will be removed from the United States.

     U.S. Attorney Sarcone commended the investigative work of agents of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, which led to the successful prosecution of Salano-Azamar.
