Atlantic City Man Sentenced For Armed Robbery, Assault & Firearms Offenses

Thursday, March 27, 2025, 7:30 A.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Majid Harris, 23, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and was sentenced on his previously entered guilty plea to two counts of first-degree Armed Robbery; one count of second-degree Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose; and one count of second-degree Aggravated Assault.

According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, pursuant to the negotiated plea agreement, Harris was sentenced to twelve years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act and the Graves Act, which will require Harris to serve ten years and two months of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole. Harris will also be subject to five years of intensive parole supervision upon his release from prison.

Video Surveillance Footage Leads To Harris Being Identified

The guilty plea and Tuesday’s sentence stem from incidents that began when, on the evening of November 25, 2023, Harris ordered a food delivery from an Atlantic City food store. When the delivery driver arrived, Harris robbed the driver at gunpoint. Harris took cash from the driver and then fled on foot.

Just four days later, on the evening of November 29, 2023, Harris used the same phone number to place a food order delivery from a different food store in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Upon arriving with the food order, the driver was robbed at gunpoint under nearly identical circumstances as the first gunpoint robbery.

Although Harris disguised his face during the robberies, he was ultimately identified and apprehended after Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and conducted an investigation involving the phone number used in the robberies.

While In County Jail, Harris Violently Assaults Another Inmate

After being taken into custody and charged, Harris was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he participated in a violent assault of another inmate who was beaten unconscious.
