CAMDEN, NJ.- on Tuesday, a 38-year-old Sicklerville, New Jersey, man will be facing up to 60 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine throughout southern New Jersey.

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Joseph Watson, 38, of Sicklerville, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Christine P. O’Hearn to Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine; Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine; and Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.

Watson Faces Up To 60 Years In Federal Prison

Following entering his guilty plea on Tuesday, Judge O’Hearn accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for July 29, 2025. At that time, Watson faces, on each of the three counts, a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offenses and Watson’s prior criminal history.

According to U.S. Attorney John Giordano and charging documents filed with the District Court, beginning in June 2023 and lasting through October 2023, Watson conspired with Ian Dudley and others to distribute quantities of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl in Camden County, Gloucester County, and elsewhere in Southern New Jersey.

Watson Sold Meth And Fentanyl To Undercover Agent

During the course of the conspiracy, Watson sold around 927 grams of crystal methamphetamine and around 28 grams of fentanyl to an undercover federal agent, ultimately leading to his arrest and subsequent charges being filed.

Watson’s co-defendant, Ian Dudley, is currently awaiting trial on the charges that were filed against him for his role in the drug trafficking conspiracy.

U.S. Attorney Giordano commended the investigative work of agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for the investigation, which led to Tuesday’s guilty plea by Watson.
