ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- On Thursday, March 27, 2025, Fatima Gadson, also known as Samantha Johnson, 34, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Joseph Levin to third-degree Terroristic Threats; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and third-degree Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.

According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, in return for her guilty plea, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will be recommending at the time of sentencing that Gadson be sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison. Following entering her guilty plea on Thursday, Judge Levin scheduled sentencing for August 29, 2025, in Atlantic County Superior Court in Mays Landing, New Jersey.

Guilty Plea Stems From Atlantic City Incidents

The guilty plea stems from two incidents that occurred in the summer of 2023 and 2024 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

On June 6, 2023, members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to the Claridge Hotel after receiving a report of a woman threatening to stab a hotel security guard with a knife. Shortly after arriving on the scene, Police Officers were able to locate and apprehend the woman, later identified as Gadson, who was in possession of a knife.

The following summer, on August 20, 2024, Atlantic City Police Officers responded to a store located on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that Gadson got into a verbal altercation with the store’s owner. During the altercation, Gadson threatened to kill the owner while brandishing what was believed to be a handgun. Within minutes, Gadson was apprehended by responding Police Officers and was found to be in possession of an imitation handgun.
