CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- A 38-year-old Bergenfield, New Jersey, woman will be spending nearly the next three years in federal prison after being sentenced on Thursday to bilking multiple people, including a Marion County, West Virginia individual out of over $300,000 in an investment fraud scheme.
On Thursday, March 27, 2025, Diana Mae Fernandez, 38, of Bergenfield, New Jersey, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh to 33 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for her conviction of wire fraud charges for an investment scheme in which victims from West Virginia and elsewhere lost over $300,000.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and charging documents filed with the District Court, Fernandez, also known as “Diana Fernandez Koporan,” “Dana Fernandez,” and “Dajana Ko,” operated purported investment firms known as “The Self Made Success” and “Diana Mae K., LLC.” During this time, she advertised herself on social media platforms, representing her services as “no risk” or offering “guaranteed” profit returns.
Multiple victims, including an individual from Marion County, West Virginia, were defrauded out of hundreds of thousands of dollars that Fernandez used for her own personal benefit.
In handing down the sentence on Thursday, in addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Kleeh also ordered Fernandez to pay $330,144.00 in restitution to her victims.
