Man Fatally Gunned Down Late Saturday Night In Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the shooting death of an 18-year-old man, who was fatally struck by gunfire late Saturday night in Southeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, just minutes after 11:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting on the 3300 Block of 10th Place in Southeast, D.C.

Police Find Man Shot On 10th Place

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found Jose Walters of Southeast, D.C., unresponsive from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Mr. Walters was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving measures by medical staff, Mr. Walters succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Homicide Branch Detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding what led to the shooting death of Mr. Walters.
