According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, March 31, 2025, shortly before 11:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Northwest District responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1100 Block of F Street in Northwest, D.C.

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim, who reported to Police Officers while in the 1100 Block of F Street; the suspect approached and stabbed them. The victim was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening stab wound.

A short time later, based on the description provided by the victim, Detectives located and arrested the suspect, identified as Ricky Camacho, 45, with no known address. Camacho was formally charged with one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Camacho was processed on the charges and remanded to the DC Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
