Three People Fatally Gunned Down Across Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- Three men were fatally gunned down within 24 hours across Washington, D.C., as gun violence continues to plague the streets of the nation’s Capitol City.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, shortly after 12:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting on the 900 Block of Mount Olivet Road in Northeast, D.C.

First Shooting Victim 55-Year-Old Man

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found a man, later identified as Maurice Tyner, 55, with no known address, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Mr. Tyner was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Service to an area hospital for treatment, where, despite life-saving measures, Mr. Tyner tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

Second Shooting Victim 48-Year-Old Man

     On Saturday, April 5, 2025, just shortly before 9:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to reports of a shooting on the 1100 Block of Eastern Avenue in Northeast, D.C. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as DiCarlo Dickerson, 48, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive having sustained multiple fatal gunshot wounds. Mr. Dickerson was subsequently pronounced deceased on the scene.

     Just three hours later, shortly after 12:30 a.m., on Sunday, April 6, 2025, members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting a shooting on the 4200 Block of Dix Street in Northeast, D.C.

Third Shooting Victim 23-Year-Old Man

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders located a man, later identified as DeSean Mackall, 23, of Temple Hills, Maryland, having succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Mackall was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

     The investigations remain active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding all three shooting deaths.
