MOORESTOWN, NJ.- A 58-year-old Gloucester City, New Jersey, man will be spending nearly the next two decades in New Jersey State Prison after being sentenced on Friday for sexually assaulting two Burlington County preteen girls five years ago.

On Friday, April 4, 2025, Henry Papaleo, 58, of Gloucester City, New Jersey, appeared in Burlington County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Aimee Belgard to 17 years in State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Papaleo to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole.

Papaleo Will Also Be Required To Register As A Sex Offender

In addition to the prison term, Judge Belgard ordered Papaleo, upon his release from prison, to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law registration requirements. Papaleo will also be subject to parole supervision for life.

Papaleo previously appeared in Burlington County Superior Court., in November 2024 and pleaded guilty before Judge Belgard to two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault of a Child Less than 13 Years of Age.

The guilty plea and sentence stem from an investigation that began in 2023 when the teen victims informed their parents of the assaults. In an effort to protect their identities, further details about the assaults are being withheld, as well as information regarding the circumstances of Papaleo’s access to the children.
