Police Charge Man For March 2, 2025, Early Morning Burglary

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Sunday, a 55-year-old Northwest, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with breaking into a garage and stealing an E-Bike.
According to Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith and charging information filed in the criminal complaint, on Wednesday, March 2, 2025, at around 4:45 a.m., the suspect, who was later identified as Alonzo Sheffield, 55, of Northwest, D.C., entered the victim’s property located on the 1200 Block of 10th Street in Northwest, D.C.
Sheffield then gained access to the victim’s garage, stole an E-Bike, and fled the scene. Detectives were later able to identify Sheffield as the suspect.
Sheffield Arrested And Charged On Sunday
On Sunday, April 6, 2025, Sheffield was located and taken into custody and formally charged with one count of second-degree Burglary. Sheffield was processed on the charge, and D.C. Metropolitan Police did not report if Sheffield was detained or released pending court proceedings.
