Camden Man Succumbs To Injuries After Being Shot Late Last Month In Camden

CAMDEN, NJ.- Today, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay reported that Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that tragically claimed the life of an 18-year-old Camden, New Jersey, man who died from injuries last Friday after being gunned down late last month in the City of Camden.
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, shortly before 6:30 p.m., members of the Camden County Police Department responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Ware and South 7th Streets in the City of Camden.
Mr. Whye Dies Of Injuries After Being Shot Last Month
Upon arrival, Police Officers were able to locate a gunshot victim, later identified as Zaheer Whye, 18, of Camden, behind a home situated on the 700 Block of Ware Street, suffering from gunshot wounds. Mr. Whye was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, Mr. Whye succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Friday, April 4, 2025.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Police continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
