D.C. Police Apprehend Suspect Shortly After Robbing A Pair Of Glasses

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Tuesday, an 18-year-old Northwest, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with an earlier snatch-and-grab robbery that occurred in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, shortly after 5:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a robbery on the 1900 Block 7th Street in Northwest, D.C.
   Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim who reported while walking on 7th Street; they were approached by a suspect, who proceeded to snatch a pair of glasses from their face. The suspect then fled the scene.
Police Locate And Arrest Suspect A Short Time Later
While canvassing the area a short time later, Police Officers spotted an individual matching the description provided by the victim. Police Officers quickly arrested the suspect, identified as Vamorin Thompson, 18, of Northwest, D.C. Following being taken into custody, Thompson was formally charged with one count of Robbery.
