Maryland Man Fatally Gunned Down Wednesday Night In Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 29-year-old Temple Hills, Maryland, man became the latest victim to fall prey to the never-ending gun violence plaguing the nation’s Capitol City after he was fatally gunned down late Wednesday evening on a Southeast, D.C. street.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, shortly before 11:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to reports of gunfire on the 3500 Block of 22nd Street in Southeast, D.C.

Police Find Maryland Man Shot Dead On The Street

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders located a man, later identified as Jamal Kingsberry, 29, of Temple Hills, Maryland, unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Mr. Kingsberry succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting death of Mr. Kinsberry.
