Man Fatally Gunned Down Tuesday Afternoon In Asbury Park

ASBURY PARK, NJ.- A 19-year-old man became the latest victim to fall prey to the continuing gun violence plaguing the streets of New Jersey after he was fatally gunned down Tuesday afternoon on Atlantic Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, shortly before 4:30 p.m., members of the Asbury Park Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting gunfire on the 1100 Block of Atlantic Avenue in the City.
Police Find Man Fatally Shot
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Ah’kim Esdaile, 19, lying on the ground, suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. Mr. Esdaile was immediately transported by First Responders to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Esdaile tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police Department continue their search for a suspect and a motive for the shooting.
