MARTINSBURG, W.VA.- On Friday, a 48-year-old Keyser, West Virginia, woman will be facing up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing after pleading guilty yesterday to possessing and distributing controlled substances.
On Friday, April 11, 2025, Sara L. Jackson, 48, of Keyser, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and charing information filed with The District Court, Jackson had been working with another individual to sell large quantities of fentanyl, some pressed into pills, as well as large quantities of methamphetamine, throughout the Mineral County, West Virginia, area.
During the investigation, investigators of the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force executed a court-authorized search warrant at Jackson’s Keyser, West Virginia apartment. During the search, investigators located and seized 1300 grams of fentanyl and 788 grams of methamphetamine.
During her plea allocution on Friday, Jackson admitted to the narcotics distribution conspiracy and further admitted to possessing and intended to distribute the seized narcotics.
Following entering her guilty plea, Judge Trumble accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for a time and date to be determined by the District Court. At sentencing, Jackson faces up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine or both. A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Jackson’s prior criminal history, if any.
