Cleveland Man Sentenced For Distributing Drugs In Pennsylvania

JOHNSTOWN, PA.- A 35-year-old Cleveland, Ohio, man learned he would be spending the next six years in federal prison after being sentenced last Thursday for conspiring with others to distribute quantities of illicit narcotics within the Western District of Pennsylvania.

     On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Deangelo Ward, 35, of Cleveland, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Marilyn J. Horan to 72 months in federal prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release on his conviction of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Crack Cocaine.

According To Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti and charging documents filed with the District Court, beginning around July 2022 and lasting through March 2023, within the Western District of Pennsylvania, Ward conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture of cocaine, 40 grams or more of a mixture containing fentanyl, and a quantity of crack cocaine.

      During the investigation, Ward was intercepted on a federal court-authorized wiretap obtaining quantities of controlled substances, including cocaine, fentanyl, and crack cocaine, that he distributed to others within the Western District of Pennsylvania.

     U.S. Attorney Rivetti commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and Homeland Security Investigations, which led to the successful prosecution of Ward.
