Police Release The Identities Of The Mother & Teen Daughter Who Fatally Shot In Trenton

TRENTON, NJ.- The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has released the identities of the mother and daughter who were tragically found fatally shot Saturday morning inside their West State Street home in the City of Trenton, New Jersey.
As previously reported, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, members of the Trenton Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting that two deceased female victims were found inside their home located on the 300 Block of West State Street in the City of Trenton.
Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered the lifeless body of Jairah Biggs, 13, of Trenton, in a third-floor bedroom, having succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound, and Malika Whiting, 40, also of Trenton, in the stairway leading to the third floor. Ms. Whiting also sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Both mother and daughter were subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the suspect and a motive for the murders.
