Albion Man Pleads Guilty To Receiving Child Pornography

BUFFALO, NY.- On Thursday, a 68-year-old Albion, New York, man learned he would be facing potentially spending the next two decades in federal prison after pleading guilty to enticing young children to send him sexually explicit images over the internet.
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Norman Kelly, 68, of Albion, New York, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo to one count of Receipt of Child Pornography. Following entering his guilty plea Judge Vilardo accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for August 18, 2025. At that time, Kelly faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least five years and up to life of supervised release.

At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Kelly’s prior criminal history. In addition to any sentence imposed, Kelly would be required to register as a sex offender and would be required to pay restitution to his identified victims.

According to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo and charging information filed with the District Court, Beginning in March of 2023 and lasting through September 20, 2023, Kelly utilized his laptop computer to entice children to engage in sexually explicit conduct for producing digital images and video files, which he received over the internet.
On March 12, 2023, Kelly received a sexually explicit digital image of a girl who was approximately between the ages of 10 and 12. On July 20, 2023, Kelly received a sexually explicit video file of a toddler girl who was approximately 18 months old. At the time of his arrest, Kelly possessed around 475 digital images and 377 video files of child pornography, some including depictions of sexual violence against children.
