Saturday, April 19, 2025, 10:45 A.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

TRENTON, NJ.- On Thursday, April 19, 2025, U.S. Attorney Alina Habba reported that a 53-year-old Washington Township, New Jersey, man, and convicted child predator was charged in a federal complaint with allegedly possessing thousands of digital images and hundreds of video files depicting the sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children.

Marc Panchenko, 53, of Washington Township was charged in a one count criminal complaint with Possession of Child Pornography. Panchenko made his initial appearance in Federal Court in Trenton, New Jersey and was ordered detained by U.S. Magistrate Judge Rukhsanah, pending trial.

According To U.S. Attorney Alina Habba

According to charging documents filed in the criminal complaint, following Panchenko’s release from federal prison in November 2023 for a prior offense, Panchenko was placed on supervised release and a monitoring software was installed on his cellular phone to detect any images of child pornography.

Around March 3, 2025, the software alerted law enforcement to the existence of child pornography on Panchenko’s phone. During a subsequent search of Panchenko’s phone, investigators uncovered over 600 video files and over 12,000 digital images depicting the sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children, many including the sexual abuse of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct with adults, as further outlined in the criminal complaint.

If convicted at trial, Panchenko faces up to 20 years in federal prison, but due his prior federal conviction on a similar offense, Panchenko will face upon a finding of guilt a mandatory minimum of 10 years in federal prison, up to life of supervised release, a $250,000 fine and restitution to any of his identified victims.

“The rules of the federal court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
