Teen Charged In March 2025, Northwest Shooting Investigation

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Monday, a 15-year-old Northeast, D.C., boy was taken into custody and charged in connection with a Saturday night March 29, 2025, Northwest shooting that left a teenage boy fighting for his life.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, just shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to reports of gunfire on the 1200 Block of 7th Street in Northwest, D.C.

Police Find Teen Shot On Street

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a teenage boy, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The teen was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Service to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

     During the ensuing investigation, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as a 15-year-old Northeast, D.C., as the shooter. On Monday, April 21, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court custody order, the 15-year-old boy was located and taken into custody and formally charged with one count of Assault With Intent to Kill.
