PITTSBURGH, PA.- On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Western District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Daniel Alejandro Benzor Mora, 34, a Mexican national illegally residing in the Western District of Pennsylvania, with one count of Illegal Reentry into the United States by a Previously Deported Alien.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it has been alleged that on March 19, 2025, Benzor Mora was found within the Western District of Pennsylvania after having been removed from the United States on January 3, 2024.
The indictment further alleges that Benzor Mora illegally reentered the United States at an unknown location without obtaining permission or legal authorization to do so.
If convicted on the charge, Benzor Mora faces up to 24 months in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, or both. At sentencing, upon a finding of guilt, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Benzor Mora’s prior criminal history. Additionally, upon completion of any sentence imposed, Benzor Mora will face immediate deportation proceedings and be removed from the United States.
