Police Charge Second Teen In Northwest D.C. Shooting

Detectives Charge Teen As An Adult In March 29, 2025, Northwest Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, a 17-year-old Northeast, D.C., boy was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the near-fatal shooting of a teenage boy that occurred during the evening hours of Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Northwest, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting on the 1200 Block of 7th Street in Northwest, D.C.

Police Find Teenager Critically Injured

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found a teenage boy suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The teen was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

     During the ensuing investigation, Detectives were able to identify two suspects, and warrants were issued for their arrests. Previously, on Monday, April 21, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court custody order, a 15-year-old Northeast, D.C. boy was taken into custody and charged with Assault With Intent to Kill.

     On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the second suspect, identified as Ka’raun Foster, 17, of Northeast, D.C., was located and taken into custody and charged as an adult with one count of Assault With Intent to Kill.
