Bayonne Man Charged For Running Down Woman In Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, a 23-year-old Bayonne, New Jersey, man was taken into custody by Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and formally charged in connection with running down a woman during the afternoon hours of October 26, 2023, and leaving her seriously injured on a Jersey City street.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Adrian Perez, 23, of Jersey City, New Jersey, was formally charged with one count of third-degree Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury; and one count of third-degree Endangering an Injured Victim.
Perez was taken into custody on Wednesday at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus, New Jersey. He was processed on the charges and released on a summons complaint pending his first appearance in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court. The charges are a result of a direct indictment returned by a Hudson County Grand Jury.
Grand Jury Returns Indictiment
According to the information unsealed in the indictment, on October 26, 2023, just shortly after 2:30 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of Barbara Place and Grand Street in the City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 37-year-old woman suffering from multiple serious injuries. At that time, the woman was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and has since recovered from her injuries. The vehicle that struck the woman was later identified as a Chevrolet Suburban being operated by Perez, who fled the scene after hitting the woman.
