Marion County Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug And Firearms Charges

CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- On Thursday, April 24, 2025, Vincent Irving Jones, 33, of Fairmont, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Aloi to one count of Possession with Intent to Methamphetamine; and one count of being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm.

     Following entering his guilty plea on Thursday, Judge Aloi accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for a date and time to be determined by the court. When sentenced, Jones faces up to 20 years in federal prison on the drug charge and up to 15 years in prison on the firearms charge. 

     At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offenses and Jones’ prior criminal history.

According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and charging Documents filed with the District Court, during an ongoing narcotics investigation, Jones was identified as an individual who distributed quantities of methamphetamine in the Fairmont, West Virginia, area. 

     Jones was subsequently arrested and found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine as well as a loaded handgun. Jones was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms and ammunition due to prior felony convictions.

     Acting U.S. Attorney Bernard commended the investigative work of the Fairmont Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, which led to Jones’ guilty plea on Thursday.
