Bergen County Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

CLOSTER, NJ.- On Friday, following an internet child pornography investigation, a 62-year-old Closter, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly possessing digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of young children.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, launched an internet child pornography investigation. 

Detectives Identify Hildenbrand As Possessing Child Pornography

     During the investigation, Detectives determined that Kurt A. Hildenbrand, 62, of Closter, New Jersey, utilized the Internet to view, download, and possess items depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent children.

     Accordingly, on Friday, May 2, 2025, Hildenbrant was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and formally charged with one count of third-degree Possession of Child Pornography. He was processed on the charge and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
